Monday Math + Martial arts with Kamilla
Kamilla, a veteran of the NewEdge way, plays her way through math, starting where each kid is and building from there, with games, stories and plenty of manipulative to help kids figure it out. When it is time to get the wiggles out, Kamilla harnesses her years of training and 3 black belts to help the kids learn techniques that will keep them safe.
Then it is back to work with projects galore, until we integrate our learning before going home for the day.
Tuesday Science + Art with Auntie E
Run the ogg the scientific disciplines in a way that makes sense. Veteran science teacher, Elizabeth has tailored her classes to be fun, memorable and instructional. We do lots of hands on activities to strengthen understanding and projects to demonstrate our learning. When it is time for something completely different, we switch gears to the world of art. Landscape artist, Elizabeth teaches kids about the basics, color, form, shape, and how to structure your painting.
Language Arts + so much more with Blair
Wednesday Blair brings her love of the English language and her skills in physical storytelling to craft unique experiences every day. Kids creep through the bushes, pretending to be characters from a tale they just read. There is a murmur and buzz while kids throw themselves into their next creations.
Art, music + movement with Allie
Allie brings her gentle and creative artistic genius to the kids as she teaches them different ways of looking at the world through an artistic lens. She also works on somatic and emotional intelligence using movement and other skills to move strong feelings through the body.
Field Trip Fridays
Every Friday, we meet at the barn and head out to explore the island through some educational lens. This is very dynamic and we invite parental participation in our fun adventures.
